Back home in Germany i find some time to write a few lines about Auberge Inn! We stayed only two days and after the whole trip we should have stayed at least a week there! From there you can experience the whole island! Nathalie is not only a very friendly host but also a great guide and very knowledgable!!! Kayaking, camp fire and the hot breakfast were memorable!
Can only recommend it!!!
Feels almost like home!
Nathalie and Alain are great friendly hosts. The Auberge is located in a very quiet small village perfect for relaxation and to enjoy the beach. For those who want action, hiking, kayaking, canoeing and biking are perfect activities that will keep them busy all their stay. I had the opportunity to join Nathalie for a tour in kayak, she was very helpful and patiente (I am a beginner). The beach is perfect for children, there is a gentle slope and the sand is very soft under your feet. Being on the country side, I especially that Nathalie uses eco-friendly products and feels very concerned about the environment.
It is definitely a place I want to spend more time.
To reach the island I recommend the ferry, but don’t forget you sweater, there is always some wind on a boat.
Hello Alain and Nathalie! Carly and I felt right at home in your beautiful beach house in Providence Bay! We enjoyed the good company and your graciousness! Carly really liked spending time with you both. Hope to see you on Manitoulin Island real soon!

Thank you Nathalie et Alain for such a wonderful and warm stay. The girls and I had the most fun. We made the ferry on time and I am still tired from the hike at the Bruce Penisula Park. The breakfasts were amazing and I will see you guys again before the year is up so we can have long conversations....do you need a lil helper to come stay with you guys hehe.....happy summmer and thanks for all your suggestions of the greatest places to eat and see on the island...
The Auberge Inn is far and away the best place we have stayed as we have worked our way across the south shore of Superior and the north shore of Huron! Nathalie and Alain were very friendly, had great suggestions for adventures on the island and were flexible with our schedules for bird and amphibian surveys. It has been great!
We had a wonderful time in the hostel even if we just stayed one night, but everyone wished we would have had more time there. The hostel was nice, clean, the breakfast was delicious and you felt like home. Nathalie and Alain are some of the nicest people i have met here in Canada! Also the landscape of the island is beautiful. I hope i will have the chance to visit it again and stay longer in the Auberge Inn.
My six nights at the Auberge Inn were fantastic! The Inn is very clean and comfortable. Alain and Nathalie are very welcoming, hospitable, and knowledgeable. Customer satisfaction is their top priority! Their commitment to protecting the environment is an example for us all. The island is a magical place- I will return to the Auberge Inn to experience it all again.
Thank you so much for your warm welcome to the island! Snowshoeing was a perfect way for us all to get out and enjoy this winter wonderland. Bridal Veil Falls was absolutely breathtaking and we felt very privileged to see mother nature at her finest that day. Thanks for making my visit a memorable one and I am sure I will hear more about the Auberge Inn from Cliff & Derek as we head into the spring/summer seasons. Here is a link to some of our photos:

Thank you for a wonderful yoga weekend! The Auberge Inn is a beautiful hostel - the food is great, the facilities clean and comfortable, and the company interesting and friendly. Our yoga instructor, Andrea Tarini, was excellent. The activities were well-timed and very enjoyable; I especially loved the hike and yoga at enchanting Misery Bay. I look forward to returning to the Inn in the near future

Thank you again for renting us the kayaks for the day. We had a fabulous instructor to teach us how to paddle and a mini-lesson in the river after the kayaks were transported for us down to the river. The bay was calm and morning is great time to learn to balance in the kayaks with the waves adding a little bit a fun. We saw Canadian geese, dimpled rocks and little goby fish. My sister rented the tandem kayak with her boyfriend. The tandem requires balance and synchronising your paddling. We were told it's a relationship sinker or maker. Lucky for this couple they survived many random dunkings and came up laughing. What a beautiful day that we will be talking about a lot in the future.
Bonjour!

Now that the traveling Manitoulin dust has settled, I'd like to thank you, Alain and Nathalie for your terrific hospitality. You and the Auberge Inn made our trip that much more enjoyable. I found out that when you are on holiday on Manitoulin Island every day is precious. Everyone needs beautiful places to play in where nature heals and strengthens the body and soul. Providence Bay is a natural wonder that does that. We will be back.
Merci beaucoup, thank you,

My mighty Manitoulin trip is now a sweet, summer memory. As I contemplate my return to work in a few days I am having a difficult time forgetting the many Manitoulin memories now in my head and heart. Hard to believe this Island gem is right here in our own backyard (Northern Ontario). I am delighted to say the Auberge Inn experience at Providence Bay was delightful. Alain and Nathalie are excellent hosts, provided important information about the Island and its wonders, and there are many wonders to be had. I would recommend this hostel to anyone. It's affordable, friendly, a great location and so close to the beach.
The Providence Bay beach rivals any beach in the Caribbean, PEI, and elsewhere.
A trip to Manitoulin should be on the travel plans of anyone seeking adventure, joy, enchantment and fun.
A summertime Shangri-La.
We will be back.
Merci beaucoup.
Thank you Alain and Nathalie,

Nathalie & Alain: Thanks for having us in your hostel, it was a pleasure to be your guests. We've enjoyed it so much, and at the end, it felt like we've met new friends. If Canada wouldn't be that far from Holland, I'd really visit you again!!
Love,
Wietske (&Lianne)
What a fantastic place to stay when visiting Manitoulin Island - Located just off the Main Street, so peaceful & quiet and walking distance to longest sand beach. They also rent kayaks/canoe to enjoy the water,& the fish sandwich just 2 doors down at Fish & Chip place is to "die for".Will definitely return.
Thanks so much! Great people! Great place!
